Mental health care for expats and their families
As a psychologist and former expat with an international background and significant experience with living and traveling overseas, I enjoy working with expatriates located throughout the globe. I work with clients on addressing concerns related to the many psychological and emotional challenges of relocating internationally, which include cultural displacement, maintaining relationships while living overseas, feelings of homesickness and disconnection, existential questions centered around home, meaning and purpose, grief/loss, family issues, and relationship challenges.
I have experience working with adult TCKs (Third-Culture Kids), digital nomads, and internationally based doctors, teachers, professors, and students. I also work with expats who have repatriated back to their home countries and are struggling with questions of home and belonging or experiencing reverse culture-shock. Expatriate clients who are drawn to my practice are typically professionals and their families who are seeking a Western trained and licensed psychologist who is familiar with the expatriate experience. My practice seeks to fill the gap between the mental health needs of expats living abroad and the relative absence or inaccessibility of suitable mental health care in their host countries. I also work with English-speaking international clients seeking high-quality psychotherapy from a Western-trained Clinical Psychologist with advanced training and competence in international & multicultural psychology.
