<image:title>Therapy - Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>At some point we can all benefit from what therapy offers: an opportunity to be deeply known and understood. Starting with a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I work from the understanding that meaningful change is possible when we sincerely turn inwards and examine our basic assumptions about ourselves, others, and the world around us. I believe that therapy is a process of collaborative self-exploration into our values, needs, and ways of being with others. From this understanding, I work with clients to develop the critical skills of self-awareness, psychological flexibility, and emotional presence.</image:caption>

<image:title>Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>I work interactively and collaboratively with my clients by infusing humor, tact, and genuine relatedness into the therapeutic work. My therapeutic approach is firmly grounded in evidence based practice and and draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Time-Limited Dynamic Psychotherapy. My perspective is also broadly informed by humanistic values which emphasize the centrality of meaning-making, authenticity, and meaningful relationships in our lives. Additionally, because psychotherapy as a discipline has deep roots in both science and philosophy, my approach draws on the philosophical foundations of several contemporary schools of psychology such as Stoicism (CBT) and Zen Buddhism (ACT, Mindfulness, & DBT).</image:caption>

<image:title>Mental Health Care for Expats - Mental health care for expats and their families</image:title>
<image:caption>As a psychologist and former expat with an international background and significant experience with living and traveling overseas, I enjoy working with expatriates located throughout the globe. I work with clients on addressing concerns related to the many psychological and emotional challenges of relocating internationally, which include cultural displacement, maintaining relationships while living overseas, feelings of homesickness and disconnection, existential questions centered around meaning and purpose, grief/loss, family issues, and relationship challenges. I have experience working with adult TCKs (Third-Culture Kids), digital nomads, and internationally based doctors, teachers, professors, and students. I also work with expats who have repatriated back to their home countries and are struggling with questions of home and belonging or experiencing reverse culture-shock. Expatriate clients who are drawn to my practice are typically professionals and their families who are seeking a Western trained and licensed psychologist who is familiar with the expatriate experience. My practice seeks to fill the gap between the mental health needs of expats living abroad and the relative absence or inaccessibility of high-quality mental health care in their host countries.</image:caption>
